What is Hekili?
Hekili is a priority (often referred to as rotation) helper for DPS and tank specializations in World of Warcraft. It generates recommendations based on the SimulationCraft profiles that you are already using to optimize your gear. If you've compared your performance against your character's simulations and found room for improvement, this addon may help you to see what your simmed character would do, live and in-game, in the content you are playing.
First Steps
After downloading the addon, log into your DPS or tank character. You'll find a bar showing 3 ability recommendations near the center of your screen. The addon is suggesting these abilities, left-to-right, one after the other. If something happens in combat that would change the recommendations, the addon updates automatically. For example, if your Sinister Strike crits and procs extra Combo Points, the addon's recommendations may shift to show different abilities since you now have more Combo Points than it could guarantee in its initial prediction.
You can customize the addon in a number of ways, via the options interface (/hekili
)
- Toggles: Many abilities are situational; you want to time your big cooldown abilities at key moments in your fight. With Toggles, you can turn off your big cooldowns by pressing a key combination (default is
ALT-SHIFT-R
) and then hit the same buttons again to have them recommended at the right time in your fight. - Mode: The toggles section also allows you to switch the display mode for the addon. By default, addon recommendations are based on the number of detected targets, the logic for which can change based on your role as ranged/melee. Sometimes, you want to focus on a single target even if more enemies are engaged. By toggling to Single-Target, the addon will show only single-target recommendations. Toggling to Dual would cause the addon to have two displays, one with single-target recommendations, the other with multi-target (a.k.a. AOE).
- Displays: You can also customize your displays in terms of style, number of recommendations, fonts, colors, layout, with the primary icon and the queued recommendations allowing different styles to take place. If you like SpellFlash, you can also enable it for each display independently.
